We don't want to repeat any of the issues covered in the
'I'm not convinced' page, so these are only
those FAQ that do not appear there.
Click on the questions below to get straightforward answers to your questions
- How does it work (non-technically speaking)?
- I don't have email
- I am not a UK company
- I want potential customers to email me from my
website but I cant read it daily
- Do you have a brochure?
- Can I have more than one website name?
- Do you have any special packages that allow monthly
updates to content on my website?
- I still have more questions!
The best way to see it in action is to type in the website address
www.left-handed-flagpole-painters.co.uk into your browser and watch the
screen very carefully.
(pretend that it was your website address)
A frame pops up and at the top left corner it says
left-handed-flagpole-painters.co.uk, but at the bottom you will see a small
message saying something like 'Opening page
http://www.cyangold.co.uk/lefhandedflagpolepainters.co.uk/' - watch carefully as
it disappears very quickly!
What's really happening is that it finds the address
www.left-handed-flagpole-painters.co.uk which says, send the person to where the
real website is but still show them the original website name.
The reason we do this is cost - just the name alone left you change out of a
tenner and looks nice on your business card/brochure...
...but the real cost of the website that maintains your website is into four
figures which is why we do it this way - you get the best of both worlds.
Pretty much the same thing happens with your email - it gets sent to, say,
enquiries @ left-handed-flagpole-painters.co.uk which then automatically
forwards it to your real email address. But it looks good for your customers.
No problem - you don't need to specify an email address on your website if
you don't want to.
Alternatively you can go and get a free email account from one of the many
providers out there - people like yahoo.com provide free email. When your
customers write to you, they will only see your business email address, but when
you reply they will see your 'free' email address (so why not use a name that
reflects your business e.g. mybusiness@free_email.com.
(when you sign up for free email, you will be bound by the
providers terms & conditions and we cannot represent whether they will accept
non-personal email/email addresses or otherwise)
No problem - we can still build your website for you and provide most of the
features for the currency equivalent of the specified £ prices - EXCEPT -
the cost will not include registering your website address for suffixes other
than .co.uk or .com. The costs for this varies greatly, but we will discuss with
you how to do this in your local market.
okay - this is a common problem for many small businesses.
We do offer a service for
clients that allows us to read your email and then forward the email to you via
other means e.g. post, fax, text sms, or a call to your mobile.
The costs for this service vary and depend upon the volume of information
received and the frequency that you would like us to pass the data to you.

Basically - no!
If we print a nice glossy brochure, our prices will need to be increased and
we don't think that it is worthwhile.
By all means - it is common practice to register several website addresses to
protect your company name The cost of the additional addresses will not be
included in our standard prices, but we will discuss this with you when you sign
up.
We do. Either when you sign up for a
new website you can mention this on the request form, or
let us know separately.
okay, please send us an email using the feedback form
and we will reply to you.
